Just took a study break to create my blog over here. Japanese is hard work, but the fast pace at which we learn is very rewarding. I like Japanese because it makes sense (so far). There don't seem to be too many irregularities in the language, only 5 vowels, a set amount of Hiragana that for the most part has a predictable pronunciation. It is pretty tough however to take all the rules and vocab we've learned and form it into a semi-coherent sentence. It's one thing to recall a single vocab word from a flash card, but its another to have to speak it and fit it right where it should be. Practice will make perfect though, so the only thing to do is keep going at it with the drill cd. Well, its time to go back and study. Got lot's of work today.
Ja Mata,
Andrew

Practice will make perfect--- it's a good proverb, isn't it? As a teacher, how much students learn in a short time always amazes me. You'll start communicating with people in Japanese before you know it. Good luck!
